Welcome to my website. I am Miss La Vida, performer, producer and teacher of burlesque based in Auckland, New Zealand. My company, MissChief Events, has produced high-end burlesque shows for the public & private events since 2008. MissChief is in hiatus whilst Miss La Vida takes on the world. About Miss La Vida

Other achievements include: reaching the finals of the Whoopee Club's Tournament of Tease and the Ministry of Burlesque's Battle of Burlesque in conjunction with Bizarre Magazine in 2008. Performing for Pamela Anderson and Richie Rich at the 2009 NZ Fashion Week. Being invited to perform at the 2009 London Burlesque Festival and the 2011 Australian Burlesque Festival. And performing in the Late Night Seduction as part of New Zealand Fashion Weekend 2011. Miss La Vida is the feisty firecracker of playful parody.
From London to Las Vegas, New York to Auckland, Miss La Vida has entertained, stunned and brought audiences to their feet with her witty and engaging style of burlesque.Not one for imitation, Miss La Vida prides herself on creating acts that are intelligently conceived with a comedic twist. She is the master of bringing together the classic glamour of vintage burlesque with modern concepts.In the 3 years since she started performing burlesque, Miss La Vida has made a global impression performing for the likes of: Chaz Royal (UK), Lost Vagueness (UK), Goodtime Mama JoJo (UK) and the 2010 New York Burlesque Festival.The highlight of her career so far is competing in the Best Debut category in June 2011 at the most prestigious event in the world, the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.

Hen Parties

The Mischievous Evenings package is tailored to groups of ladies out on special occasions such as Hens Parties, Birthday Parties or a Girls Night Out. Mischievous Evenings are all about having fun with your girlfriends whilst learning how to bring out your inner goddess.Miss La Vida will teach you some basic burlesque moves such as the bump 'n' grind and the shimmy. These moves will then be put into a routine with feather boas and gloves. All props are provided. Evenings are available between 3.00pm and 10.00pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and last 90 minutes. They are held at a dance studio in Auckland City. Evenings are also available at private venues within the CBD. The cost of the evening is $300 for groups of up to 12 people OR $25 per person for groups larger than 12. Price includes studio and prop hire and for groups larger than 15, the hen will receive a burlesque related gift. Public Burlesque Classes

Miss La Vida teaches 3 types of class: The Intensive Burlesque Course with vintage hair and makeup class, The Bare Essentials Course which is a striptease class and the Sally Rand Course which teaches large ostrich fan dancing. Further details can be found below. Courses are rotated on a monthly basis. Please refer to the Calendar page to see when the next course is. Courses usually take place on a Sunday at Citydance on Queen St.INTENSIVE BURLESQUE COURSE WITH VINTAGE HAIR AND MAKEUP CLASS. 3 hours.The course is made up of a 2 hour class where Miss La Vida will teach a 3 minute classic 50s style burlesque routine, with lots of peeling, shaking and teasing. You'll be taught moves and tricks with feather boas and gloves, and be shown ways of removing other essential costume items. Then Sarah from Bombshell Beauty will give you a 1 hour hair and makeup class so you too can achieve the vintage glamour look. Cost is $80 which includes hire of props and notes with the choreography and hair&makeup tips. SALLY RAND FAN DANCING COURSE. 2 hours.You'll be taught lots of different fan tricks which will be put together in a 3 minute routine. You have the choice of using small hand fans for $35, or large ostrich fans for $90. All props are provided. JanineTHE BARE ESSENTIALS ONE DAY STRIPTEASE COURSE. 2 hours.Would you like to give your special someone a real treat? How about performing a stylish and sultry routine that is sure to make them weak at the knees? The course includes a 2 hour lesson where you'll be taught a choreographed striptease routine, ready for you to perform to your special somebody, plus a lesson on what to wear and not to wear when doing striptease.Please be aware that there is an element of nudity in this class, as you will be learning how to remove clothing with elegance and tease. You will, for example, learn how to easily remove your bra, but you will wear something underneath it so that you are not totally exposed.You will be required to have certain items of underwear such as a suspender belt and stockings. Further details will be given to you upon registration.The course costs $100. It is also available as a private lesson. The course will take place in a small and secure studio where peeping toms will not be able to see you. "Big Butts" The act Miss La Vida was chosen to compete with at the 2011 Burlesque Hall of Fame. A fusion of classic burlesque with a comedic twist celebrating the best of the 90s.

"Vintage Fan Dance" A classic fan dance with costuming and music from the 1930s. This act is the embodiment of classic, vintage burlesque.
